For all of us in Colorado it is a great weekend. Our Broncos are in the Super Bowl and there are many new feet of snow in the mountains. So our big decision for Sunday is do we go skiing and take in the sun and fantastic snow conditions, or go to a Super Bowl party and probably eat and possibly drink too much.

In either case, we have some recommendations for you.

  • If you go skiing, don’t forget the sunscreen. Of course you should use a day cream daily which has sunscreen to block both UVA and UVB rays. Our Sense Daytime Protective Emulsion does just that. That is what we use daily and when skiing especially it protects the skin from the sun and the harsh drying wind.  We also take our USANA Esentials supplements daily to help our health, but especially when we go skiing (or any strenuous activity) to help our bodies recover quickly after a hard day skiing, or hiking, biking, running, or in the gym.
  • OK, if you’re heading to the Super Bowl party. you’ll also give your body a work out. Lots of chips, soda, beer, nachos, wings, and all the other munchies.  So several things happen here.  As you eat all those tasty high glycemic foods like chips, beer, soda, juice, potato skins, etc, your blood sugar levels rapidly rise. When your blood sugar is elevated it causes a lot of inflammation which wrecks havoc throughout your body, least of all inflammation is what turns harmless LDL cholesterol sticky and makes it bad.  So take a good doses of antioxidants to keep the damage down. We use the USANA Essentials daily then add additional Proflavanol on top of that. Proflavanol is a powerful antioxidant to protect your body. It also is great for reducing, or eliminating, the hangover after a long night of drinking.  Also your liver will take a beating to, so we recommend the USANA Hepicil to support liver health.
