We tell people to shave before they come in, but don’t wax or tweeze, but invariably they think that if shaving is good, waxing is better.
The problem with waxing is that it pulls the hair completely out of the follicle. Without the hair in the follicle the laser doesn’t have anything to target. Laser hair removal works by using the laser light to heat up the pigmented hair in the follicle thereby using thermal energy to disable the hair follicle. If the hair isn’t there, the treatment is useless.
So shave before and between your laser treatments, but please don’t wax.
