This is a question we often here when we mention touch ups. Laser hair removal and electrolysis only work on existing hair follicles, but your body can grow new hair where there wasn’t hair before. Remember back to puberty, there wasn’t any hair, then all of a sudden there was hair everywhere.
Obviously puberty is the hormonal event which causes the most new hair growth, but as we go though life we have other changes, pregnancy, and menopause. For men there aren’t the number of life changes, but with higher testosterone levels that spurns new hair growth, then a “menopause” when a man hits 50 or so hair grows everyplace, nose, ears, eyebrows go crazy, etc.
So laser hair removal can clear an area, but once or twice a year you may need to get a few hairs taken care of. The area won’t completely regrow, but you’ll have a few stragglers.
The one exception is women with PCOS, this causes very abnormal hair growth and that hormonal problem needs to be treated first before any hair removal method will be effective.
